Sobre el Linaje Correlliano por Rev. Donald Lewis Highcorrell

Can you speak a little bit about the Union between the Correllian Lineage and the the "related Louisiana lineage". What were the circumstances that lead to the almost extinction of the original Correllian lineage as discussed in the introduction to the 5 mystic secrets...

From Donald Lewis:

The Mabeline lineage is the senior lineage of the High-Correll family, composed of the descendants of Caroline High Correll through her daughter Mable High Correll. This is the lineage that I belong to. The Louisine Lineage are the descendants of Caroline High Correll through her son Louis High Correll. This is the lineage that Lady Krystel belongs to. Because the High-Correll family formerly practiced a strict matrilineal descent only daughters could carry on the family lineage.

Unfortunately, of Caroline's three daughters, only one (Mable) had any children, and she had a single daughter (LaVeda). LaVeda's only daughter, my sister Linda, died in youth, and no further daughters were ever born to the Mabeline lineage. As the elder members died, it became clear that the Tradition would die out as there were no daughters to pass on the bloodline.

A son could carry the bloodline, but could not pass it on. Within the mindset of the family in those days, this could have been remedied through an adoption of a related woman, but all potential candidates were geographically remote or out of contact. The ideal candidate was Gloria, the daughter of Louis High Correll, who had been effectively adopted by Mable years before. In the early 1970s, just as the situation looked hopeless, the situation changed: Gloria returned to the area and resumed her close relationship with LaVeda after many years away. LaVeda and Gloria united the two lineages and determined that the Tradition would go forward in this way.

They also began the movement from a familial lineage toward the initiatory lineage we use today. In 1979 the Tradition was declared a public Tradition, and blood descent ceased to be relevant on a Tradition level. As for the family itself, the older principle of matrilineal descent was done away with in favor of unilateral descent, and many additional adoptions were made, guaranteeing the survival of the family as a family. In the same way the public nature of the Tradition and the adoption of the initiatory Clergy lineage guarantees the survival of the Tradition.
